Stitch Fix is a monthly clothing and styling subscription service. When you initially sign up, you take an in-depth survey that asks you about your clothing size, personal style, and price preferences. Your stylist handpicks five items based on your preferences within the survey. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. And if you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. (If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!)
My items are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your Stitch Fix may be completely different!
My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Stitch Fix Plus Clothing December 2017 Review
This is the invoice that was included. It shows in detail the items selected for me and the brands, sizes, and cost of each piece. The total comes up to $292 after all the discounts if I opt to keep everything—which is a $124 total savings! That is like getting the KIYONNA velvet maxi dress for FREE! That is a killer savings!
Also included is this sheet with a note from my stylist, Candace. She is always receptive to the feedback I provide and consults my Pinterest, which I appreciate! She states in the note that she included the green velvet maxi due to similar items I have posted on my fashion Pinterest. She also provides helpful styling tips for each piece she picks out for me. The visuals are one of my favorite details. Not only are these tips helpful in my styling, but to show the versatility of each piece when I consider which potential piece to purchase! Now say “potential piece to purchase” five times fast, I dare ya!
Stitch Fix included an informative ad regarding how to gift a subscription to their service for a friend or loved one as well. Give the gift of fashion to your favorite guy or gal!
Kristy Velvet Dress by Love and Legend, Size 24w – Retail Value $84
Candace is well aware of my obsession with velvet items, so it comes as no surprise she included this fantastic dress. I am familiar with the Love and Legend brand since so many items are included in my Trunk Club boxes by them. I love this dress because its aesthetic is Mrs. Roper from Three’s Company meets Sabrina from Bewitched. This dress has ample stretch and the bell sleeves are out of sight! This would look great paired with patterned tights and knee-high boots. The dress is a bit baggy on me, but I still like the loose fit. I am curious what a size 22 might look like on me instead, though, especially if I did opt to make the purchase. Stitch Fix does offer to send different sizes in pieces if you are considering keeping them. That is always something to keep in mind.
Camrey Faux Suede Skirt in Burgundy by Lysse, Size 3x – Retail Value $88
This above the knee skirt has a great deal of stretch and hugs the curves incredibly well. I also love the faux suede look and feel. I paired this skirt with a bodysuit from ShoeDazzle that will be in an upcoming review. The cut and style of this skirt make it rather versatile. You could pair this skirt with black tights, booties, a large brimmed hat, and a turtleneck for a chic casual look or with flats and your favorite band shirt for a laidback weekend ensemble. The only negative is the cost, but again that could be justified by the adaptability of this skirt.
Bailee Lace Bell Sleeve Blouse by Truly Poppy, Size 3x — Retail Value $58
When I first saw this top I kept thinking of Seinfeld’s puffy shirt. I felt it may be too extreme with the lace cuffs, but once I tried this top on I could see the appeal. The fit is great. It is not terribly stretchy, but the cut was perfect on my frame. Some mixed media tops are done poorly and hang terribly, but that is not the case with this blouse. I am rather impressed with how the bell sleeves hang. I loved Candace’s suggestion of pairing the top with the faux suede skirt and choker she included, but I opted to wear it with some jeans for a casual look. This also would look fantastic with dress pants and pointy heels for a great work ensemble.
Colleen Dark Green Velvet Maxi Wrap Dress by KIYONNA, Size 3x — Retail Value $118
I have another dress by KIYONNA in a bodycon/wrap style, so I was excited to try another by the brand. This dress is incredibly luxurious and glamorous. The stretchy fabric paired with the adjustable tie sash helps you customize how the dress fits. I prefer my dresses to hug my body and this gorgeous one does that incredibly well. I paired the dress with a faux fur shawl, gold booties, and the necklace included in this month’s box for a perfect New Year’s Eve outfit!
Reina Collar Necklace by Baublebar – Retail Value $68
As you all may or may not know, I am a sucker for glitzy costume jewelry. Candace definitely does and included this glitzy number in her offerings this month. The beauty of a choker like this is that you can wear it with a dressy ensemble or add some pizzazz to a more laid-back outfit. I would wear this with dresses, but even low cut band shirts, a moto jacket, booties, and skinny jeans. I adore the style of this necklace and that the baubles are set in brushed gold, but I did not like how snug this necklace is. I have a thick neck, but anyone with a larger neck than mine would need an extender for certain.
Verdict: Another stellar box from Stitch Fix this month. Time and time again I have to commend my stylist, Candace, on how attentive she is to details and to my preferences. I appreciate how she consistently references my Pinterest monthly for her selections. Stylists like her really take pride in customizing the experience for their customers and that does not go unnoticed with me. This makes the $20 stylist fee more than reasonable, especially since if I choose to keep an item it applies to what I purchase. I give Stitch Fix an A+!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $20 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $416. The cost of each item is listed alongside it above, but if I choose to keep at least 5 items, I get a 25% discount. The $20.00 cost of the box would also be applied to the purchase, meaning I’d end up spending $292 for the whole box. Ultimately, that’s almost a 30% discount!
